4 steps you can change your administrator's password

Change your Administrator Password!!! in WinXP
1. Click Start then Run. In the open box type in “control userpasswords2” without the quotes and then click OK or press enter on the keyboard.

2. Click on the Advanced Tab and then on the Advanced button.
3. Next click on the Users folder in the left pane of the Local Users and Groups Window. To the right are all accounts existing locally on your system. The Administrator account is what you are looking for. That is the account you must log in with in order to make system level changes. From here on out, we will refer to this as your local system administrator account or your administrator account. There may be a chance where your administrator account has been renamed. You can usually tell which account is the administrator one by reading the description to the far right of the selected account.

4. If you’re not sure what the password is, right click on the Administrator account and choose reset password to reset it. Before restarting your computer, write down this account credentials (the username and password of the account) and store this information in a safe place. When you leave campus you will need this information to get back into your computer.
